Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children of Atlantic, Cape May, and Camden Counties for the 8th Annual “Deck The Hall-Festival of Trees” event. This collaboration aims to support neglected and abused children this holiday season by raising funds for CASA’s mission.
With the support of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA), Coca-Cola, and Lite 96.9 WFPG, local businesses, organizations, and individuals are invited to sponsor custom-decorated holiday trees to be displayed in the Boardwalk Hall lobby. The event kicks off with a private reception on Wednesday, December 11, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., featuring key community partners and agencies. The decorated trees will then be available for public viewing from December 12, 2024, to January 3, 2025. Proceeds will be donated to CASA to help recruit and train volunteers to advocate for children in foster care throughout Atlantic, Cape May, and Camden counties.
“We are so grateful for the continued partnership with Atlantic City’s Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall and OVG360 as the 2024 Deck the Hall Festival of Trees event beneficiary,” said Lauren Crenshaw, CASA Executive Director. “This commitment to CASA is especially meaningful during the holidays, when family customs are celebrated and shared with the ones that we love. This event gives us hope that our advocacy and the awareness it brings will help reunite families, allowing their own traditions to continue.”
Lite 96.9 Afternoon Host, Steve McKay, added, “Lite 96.9 and Townsquare Media are pleased to be a part of such a wonderful event for such a worthy cause. We challenge all our friends in South Jersey to help Lite Up Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall this holiday season.”
Get Involved: To sponsor a tree for the event, purchase Opening Night Reception tickets or for more information, visit www.BoardwalkHall.com or contact [email protected].
To date, the annual ‘Deck the Hall-Festival of Trees’ event has raised over $93,000 for local organizations, with $87,000 benefiting CASA and $6,000 donated to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey Southern Branch.
About CASA for Children: CASA recruits, trains, and supports citizen-volunteers to advocate for children in foster care, ensuring they are placed in safe, permanent homes. In Atlantic, Cape May, and Camden Counties, CASA volunteers have helped 382 children in the last fiscal year, but hundreds more still need support. CASA volunteers ensure that these children receive timely, objective recommendations in Family Court. Children with CASA volunteers are twice as likely to be adopted, half as likely to re-enter foster care, and more likely to have better educational outcomes.
