Albany First Politician James Skoufis Drops Out of DNC Chair Race

ALBANY - After members of his own party labeled him “not a serious candidate,” James Skoufis has officially abandoned his quixotic campaign to become the Democrats’ top party boss. While Skoufis has tried to masquerade as a centrist in his district, his bid to chair the Democratic National Committee exposed his alignment with the same wildly unpopular leaders like Joe Biden and Kathy Hochul, who have driven New York and the nation into chaos.

“James Skoufis represents everything voters in the 42nd Senate District are rejecting—an Albany insider who prioritizes progressive, out-of-touch policies over the needs of hardworking New Yorkers,” said NYGOP Chair Ed Cox. “His failed campaign for DNC Chair is just another example of how disconnected he is from his constituents and the America First values they support.”

The 42nd Senate District is a Trump district that overwhelmingly supports America First policies. Skoufis, however, has proven to be an “Albany First” politician, more focused on advancing Kathy Hochul’s disastrous agenda of high taxes, overregulation, and eroded freedoms than standing up for his district.

“New Yorkers are waking up to Skoufis’ true priorities-and they won’t forget who he stands with: Albany Democrats who have made New York the highest taxed, least free state in the nation,” concluded Cox.
