Arts and Entertainment

June 8, 2023

From: Alliance Francaise de Denver

Bonjour !

Last week, we said goodbye to two of our beloved staff members here at AFD: Magali Echenne, office manager, and Marie Jennings, admin assistant. We will miss them dearly, but are very excited for their new adventures. Magali has other projects on the horizon and Marie is leaving for Lille, France to participate in the TAPIF program as an English teacher for the school year. Bonne continuation !

This week, we are happy to present our newest members of the Administration Team at AFD!

Joanne Symmonds, Office Manager

Joanne is originally from Chicago, Illinois. She attended Illinois State University where she studied Political Science and French. She participated in a semester long study abroad program at Grenoble University while at ISU. She moved to Colorado in 1989 and worked in the legal field for 15 years. She received her master’s degree in human resources/management from Webster University in 1995. Most recently, she has worked as an Office Manager for a small language group and a construction company. She is married with two children in college. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering at animal rescues, gardening and taking walks with her family and rescue dog, Liam.

Ariel Myrtil, Admin Assistant

Ariel is currently studying International Studies and French at CU Denver. She is originally from Haiti and moved to Denver a little less than a year ago. She loves to dance, watch crime shows, and eat chocolate ice cream. She has a cute little black cat named Smoothie and always excited to see pictures of pets! Ariel is looking forward to meeting all of you!
