July Brown Bag Lunch
Brown Bag Lunch
Wednesday, July 5, at 12pm
Sustainable forest management provides a continuous flow of goods and materials that we use in our everyday lives. Ensuring that these forest products are supplied in a sustainable manner while protecting key resources like water and air quality, wildlife habitat, critical habitat for threatened and endangered species, and carbon sequestration and storage are key values to the forest industry and Rayonier. Mark Hebert, Vice President of Eastern Forest Resources at Rayonier, will discuss sustainable forestry in our next Brown Bag.
Attendance is free and open to the public and attendants may bring their lunch. Seating is limited on a first come, first served basis. This program is wheelchair accessible.

July 3rd on 3rd
3rd on 3rd Lecture
Friday, July 21, at 6pm
In 1763 Great Britain organized the colony of East Florida, which formed the entirety of what is now the state of Florida east of the Apalachicola River. Today, the history of East Florida is seldom studied, relegated to the outskirts of Colonial and Revolutionary Era literature, if the colony is mentioned at all.
Such relegation leads many to assume that nothing significant must have happened there, but nothing is further from the truth. In 1775, a violent border war erupted between East Florida and the state of Georgia; two noteworthy Revolutionary War battles were fought on East Florida soil; and three American invasions failed to bring East Florida into the rebellion. In this talk, author George Kotlik will provide a detailed history of British East Florida, drawing attention to the colony's early development and connection to the American Revolution.
Attendance is free for members and a suggested donation of $5 for nonmembers. Seating is limited on a first come, first served basis. This program is wheelchair accessible.
