Meet Our Speaker
Nick Deonas
Born and raised in Fernandina Beach, Nick Deonas has dedicated his life to the community. After working in his father’s boatbuilding business, he served in the U.S. Army (1964–1967) and later spent 16 years in public service as a Nassau County official.
Now the CFO of Best Friends Companion Care, Nick is also one of the last wooden boatbuilders on Amelia Island, sharing maritime history through lectures and handcrafted wood art made from local materials. His deep knowledge and passion make him a treasured storyteller of Amelia Island’s past!
Join Nick for the opening of the new quarterly exhibit and discover the art of traditional boatbuilding!
Following the lecture, attendees will enjoy exclusive access to the exhibit along with complimentary food and beverages.
