The Rise and Fall of Pogy Fishing in Fernandina
With Neil Frink and Jim Corbett
Fernandina is famous for its booming shrimping industry in the early 1900s, but did you know another commercial fishing industry was making waves at the same time? Menhaden (or "pogy") fishing was a thriving business, creating jobs and keeping the local economy afloat.
Join Neil Frink, son of a pogy boat captain, and Jim Corbett, whose family owned a pogy plant, for April’s Brown Bag Lunch. These two lively storytellers will take you on an entertaining journey through the world of pogy fishing, sharing their immersive and illustrated firsthand stories!
Seating is limited on a first-come, first-served basis. This program is wheelchair accessible.
