Beloved animal welfare event returns to Lancaster Fairgrounds on Oct. 5

LANCASTER, MA - Pet Rock Fest, Inc. is thrilled to announce the 27th annual Pet Rock Festival, taking place Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Lancaster Fairgrounds. And this year, the music is going up a notch—David Cook, winner of Season 7 of “American Idol,” headlines the festival’s live music lineup.

Best known for his soulful rock voice and chart-topping hits following his 2008 “American Idol” win, Cook brings his signature style and energy to the stage at Pet Rock Fest, adding a national name to a festival known for its big heart. With platinum-certified singles and albums, a Broadway stint in “Kinky Boots,” and millions of records sold worldwide, Cook’s performance promises to be a highlight of the day.

“We’re pretty psyched to welcome David Cook to Pet Rock,” said Charlene Arsenault, Pet Rock Fest co-founder. “Hey, he wasn’t just a finalist on Idol—he won the whole shebang. His music and his advocacy work make him a perfect fit for an event that’s all about passion, purpose, and connection. We can’t wait to see him rock the stage—for the animals.”

Following a successful debut year at the spacious, animal-friendly Lancaster Fairgrounds, the festival returns with expanded programming, even more room to roam, and an expected crowd of thousands of animal lovers and music fans alike.

Pet Rock Fest is New England’s largest event dedicated to animal welfare, featuring live music, interactive activities, and more than 100 animal-focused organizations. Returning favorites include the Rescue Groups and Shelters Pet Parade, crowd-pleasing K9 demos, the “Pups in the Air” disc dog team, vegetarian food court curated by local nonprofit VegFest, pet photo contests, the always entertaining amateur dog contest, doggie water park, and much more.

This year’s event also features live performances by local bands, kids’ activities, animal-friendly vendors, guest appearances, interactive exhibits by CMDART and the American Red Cross, and the much-loved Pet Rock Hero Awards.

Pet Rock Fest’s mission has always been to raise awareness and funds for animal welfare causes—and thanks to support from the Lancaster Fairgrounds, sponsors, and attendees, the festival continues to grow its impact year after year.

“David Cook’s performance is just one more reason to join us for what’s sure to be an unforgettable day,” added Jeannie Hebert, Pet Rock Fest founding partner. “We’re grateful to everyone who helps us make a difference for animals in need.”

Proceeds from Pet Rock Fest benefit a variety of animal-related charities, including shelters, advocacy groups, rescue organizations, and farm animal sanctuaries.
