LUNG FORCE Heroes Advocate for Lung Health on Capitol Hill

This year's Advocacy Day in Washington D.C. took on a special importance as 114 LUNG FORCE Heroes appealed to members of Congress to protect and defend:

- lung cancer research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH);

- critical public health prevention and protections at the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC); and

- Medicaid, which one in five people in the U.S. rely on to access healthcare.

In total, advocates conducted 174 meetings with members of Congress from 45 states.
