From: American Music InstituteThe American Music Institute (AMI) proudly welcomes Alexis Medina to its faculty. Mr Medina brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to AMI, inspiring students of all ages and skill levels.
Alexis Medina received a Bachelors in Jazz Studies from University of Illinois Chicago, where he studied with Zvonimir Tot. Mr Medina has worked and performed with many great musicians such as Gerardo Ramirez (K-Paz), Jonathan Sauzo (Jazz saxophonist), Salvador Moreno (La Castañeda), El Hijo de boriken (Rap), etc.
As a teacher, he strives to cultivate a music learning environment, focusing on fundamentals and musicianship where students can create and explore the power of music. Through music education, Mr Medina hopes to encourage students, building their confidence to create and perform in ways that impact not only themselves, but the communities around them.
