Oysters in Action!

Our Community Outreach Manager, Marco, has been busy adding spat-baby oysters—to our oyster cages, getting everything ready for this spring’s Oyster Education Program. These tiny oysters will grow and filter the water over the coming months, helping to improve the health of the Chesapeake Bay.

Each year, our Oyster Education program gives local students a hands-on look at how oysters support the Bay’s ecosystem. Last year, more than 1,500 kids rolled up their sleeves to learn about restoration, water quality, and conservation. We can’t wait to inspire even more young Bay stewards this spring!

Chesapeake Scenes II - Live Stream Recording Now Available

The Annapolis Maritime Museum was pleased to host Chesapeake Scenes II on Thursday, October 9th. This special evening of music, stories, and poetry honored the rich traditions and heritage of the Chesapeake Bay. Led by Capt. Andy McCown and produced by Echo Hill Outdoor School, the program featured an incredible lineup of performers including James Stankewicz, Zack Kelleher, Deb Campbell, Meredith Hadaway, Rebecca Hock, Sue Matthews, and Bob & Pam Ortiz.

For those who were unable to attend or wish to relive the experience, a recording of the event is now available to view through our website.

We are proud to celebrate our 25th anniversary with a new exhibition, Maritime Reflections, now on display through November 30!

Drawing from 25 years of collecting and preserving the stories of the Chesapeake Bay, Maritime Reflections showcases a powerful collection of rare photographs that capture the people, vessels, and moments that shaped our maritime heritage.

The exhibition is open during regular museum hours and is included in museum admission (free to members).
