From: Maryland State Arts CouncilCongratulations to our 2024 Poetry Out Loud Semifinalists!
Maryland semifinalists have been announced for Poetry Out Loud, a national arts education program that encourages the study of great poetry by high school students. The semifinalists are the winners of regional competitions hosted in February by the Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC) and produced by DewMore Baltimore. The students who placed first, second, and third at the regional competitions will compete in the Poetry Out Loud State Competition on March 16, 2024, at 1 p.m. at the Baltimore Museum of Art in Baltimore City. The event is free and open to the public.

The Poetry Out Loud recitation contest is co-sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and The Poetry Foundation, and administered by U.S. state arts agencies and regional organizations across the country.
