Art Educator of the Year Finalists Exhibition at MassMu

The Massillon Museum, the Canton Symphony Orchestra, and the Canton Museum of Art have collaborated again to honor Stark County art and music educators. The 2025 Art and Music Educators of the Year will be announced during intermission at the Canton Symphony Orchestra's March 22 concert, MasterWorks VI: Tetzloff Plays Beethoven's 1st piano concerto.

The awards recognize public, private, and parochial art and music educators in the region served by the Stark County Educational Service Center who have positively impacted their students and communities and who have shown great dedication to art and music education. The winner in each category will receive a $500 check.

2025 Music Educator of the Year Award Finalists:

Debra Bordo, Lake Local School District
Dan Nauss, Plain Local School District
Sarah McVaney, Louisville City School District
Stephen Imler, Northwest Local School District
Douglas Beery, North Canton City School District

2025 Art Educator of the Year Award Finalists:

Benjamin Myers, Canton City School District
Cathy Bravis, Osnaburg Local School District
Candice Greene, North Canton City School District
Marissa Austin, Massillon City School District
Matthew Ferrell, Massillon City School District

Artwork by the five Art Educator of the Year Award finalists will be exhibited in the Massillon Museum's Lower Level Lobby and in a complementary exhibition at the Canton Museum of Art from March 18 through April 6, 2025.
