Flora Symbolica: The Art of Flowers

Friday, March 7–Monday, July 28, 2025

For millennia, humans and flowers have shared a rich, intertwined history, with flowers appearing in early burial sites and in medicine. Beyond their beauty, flowers symbolize love, purity, and rebirth.

Showcasing the work of photographer and artist Edward Steichen, whose lifelong fascination with flowers deeply influenced his art, Flora Symbolica: The Art of Flowers explores these meanings in American art of the 20th and 21st centuries, highlighting the connections between art, nature, and human experience.
