Closed for Veterans Day

Bacon Free Library will be closed on Friday, November 10 and Saturday, November 11 in honor of Veterans Day.

Story Time

Mondays & Tuesdays at 10:00 am 

Join us on the Bacon Free Library lawn for stories, songs, and rhymes. Bring along a blanket to get comfy. Please note: if the weather is wet or below 55 degrees, we’ll move this story time indoors. 

Elizabeth Cohen Art Reception

Tuesday, November 7, 5:30 to 6:30 pm

Join us for a reception to welcome Elizabeth Cohen and her new art exhibit at Bacon Free Library, which will be on display until December 13.

Virtual: An Introduction to Guastavino Architecture

Tuesday, November 7 at 7:00 pm on Zoom

The Boston Public Library, Biltmore Estate, Carnegie Library, and more: magnificent structures designed and/or built by Rafael Guastavino or using the Guastavino Technique. In this program, Rena Henderson, board member of the Guastavino Alliance, will speak about this prolific Spanish architect, his enduring technique, and the stunning buildings that display his style. This program will be held online via Zoom; please register to receive the Zoom meeting details. We thank the Clinton Public Library for their collaboration on this program.

Baby Time

Wednesdays at 10:00 am 

Join us for a cozy storytime filled with lap bounces, rhymes, songs, and simple stories. Geared toward infants and young toddlers with their grownups.

Kindness Week Drop-In Craft

Wednesday, November 8, 3:00 to 5:00 pm

In partnership with SPARK Kindness, the BFL is celebrating Kindness Week! Drop in anytime between 3:00 and 5:00 to make kindness cards for your friends and family. All ages are welcome.

History Book Club

Thursday, November 9 at 11:00 am on Zoom

Art Exhibit: Elizabeth Cohen

On display at BFL through December 13

Stop by Bacon Free Library beginning October 20 to view the work of Elizabeth Cohen. Elizabeth is an artist in the Boston area, creating wheel-thrown and altered functional and sculptural work in porcelain, as well as mixed media with natural material such as wasp nest, mushroom spores and mulberry paper. She holds a B.A. in English from Tufts University and a M.A. T. from Simmons College.

Jammin With You

Friday, November 17 at 10:30 am

Be prepared to laugh, dance, sing, and jam your way through 30 minutes of non-stop family fun! This performance is geared toward kids ages 1–7, but fun for the whole family. With modern takes on children’s classics and classic original tunes, you’ll be humming and bopping all the way home. During the colder months, this program is held indoors and registration is required due to space limitations. Please visit our website to register starting one month before the program. If we do have warmer weather (at least 55 degrees) on this date, we will move the program outdoors and all are welcome. Jewelry Making: Create Your Own Bracelet and Gift Bag

Saturday, November 18 at 11:00 am

At this workshop you will learn to design and create your own stretch beaded bracelet. Jewelry maker Monica Foley will teach you how to design and measure your bracelets, as well as how to hide the knot inside the bracelet.  All the materials will be supplied and you will leave the program with two lovely bracelets as well as your own hand designed gift bag. This is event is geared to adults. Please let us know if you have to cancel, since space is limited. Monica Foley has been making jewelry for several years.  She is also a life-long floral designer and gardener (ask her about all the seeds she has saved from her garden).
