Greensboro, NC - The baseball field at Western Guilford High School will now be called The Chris Causey Field. Guilford County Board of Education members approved a nomination for the renaming at Tuesday’s meeting.

Christopher Causey dedicated more than 30 years to Western Guilford High School. After graduating from Western in 1987, he returned to work as a teacher, football coach, baseball coach and athletic director until his retirement in 2022. As a baseball coach, he led the team to 359 wins.

Supporters say he has always been committed to not only teaching and coaching students but developing them into people of high character with the tools they need to become successful adults.
