Belfast Harbor Fest, a community project of the Belfast Rotary Club, honors the maritime tradition of Belfast, Maine, provides people of all ages with opportunities to experience Belfast harbor, stimulates the economic life of Belfast and the Belfast area, fosters membership in the Belfast Rotary Club, and generates support for Rotary service projects that make real Rotary’s belief in “Service Above Self.”

Schedule of Events:

August 15, 2025:

5:30 pm: An Evening By the Bay at the United Farmers Market 18 Spring Street. Silent and live auctions of Arts, Crafts, and Experiences. Live music by Jonesville, catered Hors d’Oeuvres by Bell the Cat. Cash Bar. Proceeds benefit Belfast Rotary Legacy Project. 

August 16, 2025:

Vendors are located throughout the park. Kids activities near the main entrance. (10:00 am to 4:00 pm)

Come Boating! will be offering free Harbor Rows to any member of the public on Sunday from 10 to 1. Anyone interested should come to the Come Boating! boat shed near the Harbor Masters building on the Harbor Walk to sign up. Minors must have a written waiver signed by a parent or guardian.

Children’s Activities:

10 am - 12 noon: Make your own model ship
10 am - 12 noon: Design your own pirate costume!
10 am - 2:00 pm: Search for Treasure!
10 am - 1:00 pm: Face Painting
12 noon - 2:00 pm: Rain Gutter Regatta

7:00 - 7:45 am: 5K Bug Run Registration, Union & Miller Streets
8:00 am: 5K Bug Run/Walk

10:00 - 3:00 pm: Boat Building Demonstrations (Passy 12 construction, Small Boat Designs, Oar Building)
10:00 am - 2:00 pm: Cardboard Boat Building Organizational Challenge Center Lawn
11:30 - 12:15 pm: Front Street Shipyard Tour 101 Front Street
12:00 noon - 2:00 pm: Come Boating! Regatta 4-mile race in Belfast Bay
12:00 - 1:00 pm: Megan Pinette, BHS&M “Belfast in the Age of Sail”. Lecture in the Boat House.
12:15 - 2:30 pm: Live music at the Gazebo: 
12:30 - 1:15 pm: Front Street Shipyard Tour 101 Front Street
1:00 - 2:00 pm: Cipperly Good, Penobscot Marine Museum. “The Net Result: Our Evolving Fisheries and the National Fisherman Collection”. Lecture in the Boat House.
2:00 - 3:00 pm: Leigh Dorsey, RowingtoWild - R2AK - Race to Alaska Lecture in the Boat House
2:30 - 4:00 pm: Live music 
3:00 - 4:00 pm: The Dory: Station Wagon of the Sea. History and Musings about this classic Maine workboat by Nicolle Littrell in the Boat House

August 17, 2025:

Vendors are located throughout the park.

10:00 am - 1:00 pm: Come Boating! offers free Harbor Rows. Sign up at the Come Boating! Boat shed near the Harbor Master’s building.
9:00 am - 12:00 pm: Belfast Rotary Club Bake Sale (Boat House)

Cardboard Boat Challenge (at the Boat House). Sponsored by the Belfast Parks and Recreation Department and Front Street Shipyard.

10:00 am: Boats arrive, register, and sign a liability waiver
10:30 am: Public display and voting for People’s Choice Award. Boat Judging.
10:45 am: Boaters and crew meet with officials to go over the rules followed by a parade.
11:00 am: Races begin by category. The Awards Ceremony follows the final heat of the races.

11:00 am: Habitat for Humanity Lobster Gala. 

11:00 am - 3:00 pm: Live music at the Gazebo
