Perfect Season, beautiful views, amazing ride, register for the Twin Lights Ride Today!
With the warm summer weather, are you dreaming of those perfect rides in early Fall? We have the ideal ride for you, a way to finish your season strong and joyfully! Our Twin Lights Ride on October 1st has been a favorite of local cyclists and visitors from around the country for nearly two decades, and with good reason: Five routes ranging from 15 to 100 miles run along the stunning New Jersey shoreline, over undulating hills, and past quaint farms, with everyone concluding their ride at a finish festival where local restaurants come out to serve up their best to hungry riders.
Our Rest Areas will be fully stocked, our SAG (Support and Gear) vehicles will be gassed up and ready to go, and the breakfast will represent the best fall fare and is free at the Start.
DOT Commissioner Rodriquez Visits Bike Path
Our Workforce Development Program, Bike Path, had a special guest Wednesday, August 12th, Department of Transportation Commissioner Ydanis Rodríguez. Commissioner Rodriquez shared his wisdom with our participants and thanked them for being essential to New York City's alternative transportation network through their upcoming jobs repairing and maintaining Citi Bikes.
The Commissioner shared his journey, born in the Dominican Republic, moving to NYC at age 18, and earning his degree while serving as a taxi driver. As an immigrant and someone who had many obstacles to overcome, his authentic words of encouragement were very inspirational and meaningful to everyone in the room!
Our third cohort will have 18 graduates of the Bike Path Program, newly certified Bike Mechanics, eligible to work for Motivate, a second-chance employer. Bike Path offers previously justice-involved individuals the training and tools necessary to be hired and excel in their new profession. You can support Bike Path HERE
