Ride with us next month!

The Twin Lights Ride is just around the corner, register before we sell out! Choose from five scenic routes ranging from 15 to 100 miles that run along the stunning New Jersey shoreline, over undulating hills, and past quaint farms.

You won’t want to miss our finish festival where local restaurants come out to serve up their best to hungry riders.

Roundtrip ferries take you (and your bike) from Pier 11 in Manhattan to Highlands, NJ on the morning of the ride and back to NYC afterwards.

Bike rentals are available through our official bike rental partner Unlimited Biking. Riders renting a bicycle will pick up their bike at the Start and drop off their bike at the Finish. No need to transport your rental to and from the ride!

Unlimited Biking is also offering all registered riders the option of transporting their bike between NYC and Highlands. For $49 round-trip, they’ll pick up your bike at their Columbus Circle location (346 W. 57th St) and shuttle it to the Start/Finish area in Huddy Park.

Bike Fleet Manager Mary Kellner shares one of her favorite rides in Westchester County, accessible at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. Decades ago, the "Putnam Line," or "Old Put," used to carry rail passengers into New York City from Westchester and Putnam Counties. Now, it's fully paved and signed as an important rail trail link to New York's Empire State Trail.

Starting from Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, the path runs for about a mile-and-a-half until the Westchester County border. Until a few years ago, that Bronx portion was unpaved and became difficult and muddy after rainfall. As you ride north, the trail crosses into Westchester County and becomes the "South County Trail." You can still see remnants of the tracks and railway, bridges, and other vestiges of the defunct railway.

The Saw Mill River meanders parallel to the South County Trail. The riding terrain is primarily flat, but there are a few slight inclines here and there. There are several points where you can stop and get refreshments along the way as the trail passes through towns and villages. The trailway is enjoyed all around by families and roadies alike. During the fall, tree-lined-path lights up in fiery red, orange, and gold hues.

Explore free Bike Education Classes

Fall is a great time to join Bike New York for one of our bicycle education courses.  Do you or your child want to learn to ride or refresh your skills to feel more confident on two wheels?  We've got you covered.

After being closed for much of the year for repairs, we are excited that our classes are returning to our Ft. Wadsworth and East Harlem community bicycle education centers.

We're also thrilled to announce the return of our weekly Gear Femmes Bike Camp held on Roosevelt Island.  To learn more about the classes offered in September, periodically check BikeNewYork.Enmotive.com for our full schedule of classes. Classes are posted 7-10 days ahead of their scheduled occurrences.
