Governor Kelly Ayotte declares February 2025 as Black History Month.

WHEREAS, Black History Month is a time to honor the contributions, achievements, and resilience of Black Americans throughout history, who have played an integral role in shaping our nation and enriching our shared culture; and,

WHEREAS, the observance of Black History Month allows us to reflect on the struggles and triumphs of Black Americans, celebrating their enduring legacy while recognizing the challenges they have faced; and,

WHEREAS, New Hampshire is committed to promoting equality and justice for all, drawing strength from the diversity of its residents and honoring the remarkable contributions of Black Granite Staters who have enriched our state's history, culture, and economy; and,

WHEREAS, this month serves as an opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue and foster unity, ensuring that the stories. and accomplishments of Black Americans are acknowledged, preserved, and celebrated; and,

WHEREAS, the State ofNew Hampshire is dedicated to building a future of greater opportunity for all, inspired by the courage, innovation, and leadership demonstrated by generations of Black Americans;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, KELLY AYOTTE, GOVERNOR of the State of New Hampshire, do hereby proclaim FEBRUARY 2025 as BLACK HISTORY MONTH in the State ofNew Hampshire, and encourage all citizens to join in celebrating the rich history, culture, and contributions of Black Americans, while committing to the principles of equality, inclusion, and justice for all.

IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the State of New Hampshire to be affixed this 1st day of February, 2025.
