Executive Director's Notes
By Fran?oise Rhodes
As you’ll read below there will be gathering for the community to discuss a possible bloom, I’m glad that organizations are reaching out to help answer community questions and offer advice.
At the Chamber we’ve been welcoming visitors since the beginning of January looking to “see the flowers.” No one is sure what type of bloom will happen, but the Chamber has started preparing by talking with the county road departments about signage and what possible assistance they can offer. Information has been sent to business/property owners on who to call in the event extra bathrooms are needed.
Also at the Chamber we have a link to flower sightings on the home page of the website, free flower maps provided by ABDNHA to hand out and beautiful brochures for sale that will help visitors immensely, plus words of advice and reminders not to trample the beautiful flora.
On another note, local pedestrians and drivers beware. Sadly many of our visitors do not navigate well without traffic signals and designated crosswalks, expect the unexpected!!

Dear Francoise- While returning home one evening I saw this moon phenomenon that I had never seen before. I assume it is ice in the atmosphere with reflected moonlight but it was a complete circle around the moon. Photo by Terri McElhatton
Many of the streets in Borrego Springs are named after the brands
(used on branding irons) of past ranches in the area.
Can you name this street?
