SDGE Upcoming Project Info

We will be in your area soon to install a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and Hydrogen Energy Storage System (HESS) on SDG&E owned property adjacent to the Borrego Substation and Microgrid. Energy Storage Systems collect and store electricity when it’s abundant, typically during the day, and allows this energy to be deployed to the grid when it’s most needed, during the evening and after the sun sets. Energy Storage Systems support our state and region’s renewable energy goals and helps to mitigate the impact of planned and unplanned electric power service interruptions.

You may have received prior communication about this project. We want to let you know that due to unforeseen circumstances, the construction schedule will begin later than originally expected and to provide you with an update on the projects anticipated construction schedule.
