The season leaps into focus with a dynamic Program featuring all of the festival's themes: A Mozart focus highlighted by the outstanding duo that opens the Program; Transformations - Zhao Tian's dynamic Viaje (Journey) was originally for flute and string quartet; and Love - Florence Price's gorgeous Adoration (originally for solo organ) speaks to a Godly devotion, while Schumann's Piano Quintet, was inspired by the love of his celebrated pianist wife, Clara.

6pm: Beethoven Variations
Beethoven looms large in a vibrant and touching Program. Here, his youthful 2nd piano trio and gorgeous Romance are paired with Carl Reinecke's Schumanesque piano quartet in E-flat major and a beautiful set of variations on one of the most famous tunes ever written: Pachelbel's Canon.
Performance duration is approximately one hour and twenty minutes. There is no intermission.

Gershwin's famous An American in Paris serves as the inspiration for a Program of works juxtaposing great American composers George Gershwin and Sebastian Currier (in a work co-commissioned by BCM), and French legends Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel.

6pm: Mozart Reflections
Despite its ebullient spirit, Mozart's Piano Quartet in E-flat major was written when he was in desperate personal circumstances. Kevin Puts' And Legions Will Rise is, in the composer's words, "about the power in all of us to transcend during times of tragedy and personal crisis." Rounding out the Program we present Mozart's delightful A major flute quartet, and a world premiere commission from pianist and composer Michael Stephen Brown. The work is inspired by Tennyson's The Lotus Eaters, who lived out their days in bliss.

Drama and reflection. Farrenc's passionate and virtuosic Sextet is subdued by Pärt's reflective meditation on Mozart's G minor piano sonata, K. 280, while Dvo?ák's Schuman-inspired Piano Quartet in D brings both together with grace and balance.

Django Reinhardt on the music of Bach
The stunning gypsy-jazz guitarist Stephane Wrembel returns with his band to join BCM Artists in a truly stunning evening of music, wine, and food. It's been 7 years since Stephane Wrembel performed with us, and he returns with his signature style, as we explore the connection between the music of Bach and Django Reinhardt, including Reinhardt's own interpretation of Bach's double violin concerto.
