The Bronx River Film Diaries: Our Power, Our River
April 25th - May 31st
The Bronx Filmmakers Collective (TBxF), in partnership with Bronx River Art Center and Bronx River Alliance, is proud to present The Bronx River Film Diaries, an experimental documentary workshop and film challenge celebrating Earth Day 2025.
Inspired by this year’s global Earth Day theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” the project centers on the local theme “Our Power, Our River”, inviting Bronx residents to explore their relationship with the Bronx River through personal, poetic filmmaking. These artists had five days to create short films using recording devices such as smartphones, DSLRs, and camcorders to shoot in one or more of the Bronx River’s key green spaces, from Starlight Park to the Bronx River Forest. The Bronx River Film Diaries aims to amplify local voices, promote environmental awareness, and celebrate the Bronx River as a vital cultural and ecological resource.
TBxF is dedicated to fostering a thriving film community in the Bronx by providing accessible, high-quality education, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for filmmakers at all levels. Through dynamic workshops, industry partnerships, and collaborative initiatives, we equip emerging artists with foundational skills while offering established Bronx filmmakers the resources and networks necessary to elevate their craft.
