Holiday Closure: December 25 & 26

All Broward County Library locations will be closed Sunday, December 25 and Monday, December 26 in observance of the Christmas holiday. Our online resources are available 24/7.

Relax and enjoy the holidays with seasonal cinema and free movies/TV shows from Broward Country Library. Use your Broward County Library card to access free streaming video content including:

Kanopy Holiday Collection offers movies for every mood, including romance, documentaries, yuletide classics, family favorites and more. Browse their full collection of popular, classic, indie and foreign titles.

Hoopla's Best of Holiday section features many seasonal favorites. Explore their full collection of movies, TV shows, and instructional videos for all ages.

Access Video on Demand includes 40,000 high-quality documentaries, independent films, and network and cable content.

Access Video on Demand for Kids features thousands of fun and informative video and audio titles on topics including music and arts, animals, sports and hobbies, math and science, history, reading and kid-safe interactive activities and games.

Textile Craft Groups
Needlework Circle: Workshop for all needle crafts: knitting, crocheting, embroidery and more. Bring your latest project to share, swap stitches and make friends. Wednesdays, 2:30-3:45PM, January 4, Beach Branch

Off the Hook - Knitting and Crochet Group: Grab your yarn and needles and join the group; discuss and work on your latest projects and learn and share new techniques. Thursdays, 1-3PM, January 5, 12, 19, 26, Southwest Regional Library

Introduction to Rug Hooking: Free weekly classes with Amy Jones Hamilton of the Fort Lauderdale Beach Rug Hooking Group. January attendees get access to free online courses and prize raffle. National Archives' Genealogy Resources: Conduct family research and find online resources and tools for genealogists.

Historical Black Newspapers: Historical collection of newspapers with first-hand accounts and coverage of the politics, society and events of the time.

Ancestry Library Edition (available inside your favorite branch): Search for your ancestors from billions of records including birth, death, immigration, marriage, military records and the U.S. Census.

BCL Facebook Photo Album: Craftapalooza

The Main Library in downtown Fort Lauderdale opened its doors to creative crafters of all kinds at Craftapalooza, held Saturday, December 17. This all-ages celebration of creativity featured local craft vendors, art stations, entertainment, children’s activities, giveaways and more.
