All-Ages Library Summer Learning Program Starts Today!

Thursday, June 1-Saturday, August 12, Register
If you love reading, register today for the Summer Learning Program. Win prizes for tracking the hours that you read and for completing summer activities and learning challenges.

We’ll have four prize drawings this summer, but you must register for the Summer Learning Program to be eligible:

- Saturday, June 3 – This one’s for you early birds who’ve already signed in and logged on; drawing will take place at the Children’s BookFest in Fort Lauderdale. Prizes includes tickets to Museum of Discovery, LEGO art set and more

- Monday, July 3 – For all readers logged on by June 30; prizes include tickets to Zoo Miami, Jungle Queen Riverboat, Water Taxi and Miami Seaquarium

- Monday, August 1 – For readers logged on by July 31; prizes include a Bodem Brazil French press coffee maker, Patriot cooler tote and ECO Solar Power Bank 8000

- End of Summer Drawing: Monday, August 14 – Last chance to win! Readers who log on by August 12 can win four packs of Miami Heat and Florida Panther tickets or a Broward County Staycation at Margaritaville in Hollywood Beach

A Conversation with Dave Barry

Friday, June 16, 7-8PM, Main Library, Register
Dave Barry is back! Everyone’s favorite Florida Man has returned with Swamp Story: A Novel, his first book in a decade. At this free event held at the flagship Main Library in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Dave and Broward County Library Director Allison Grubbs will sit down for a spirited discussion of Swamp Story, a classic Florida caper filled with oddballs, criminals and Sunshine State schemers. A book signing will be held at the end of the event.

About Dave Barry: Known for his wit, wildly funny books and syndicated columns, Dave Barry is the bestselling author of Lessons from LucyDave Barry’s Guide to Guys and Dave Barry Is Not Making This Up. He is the winner of the 1988 Pulitzer Prize for commentary and resides in Miami. Director’s Book Club: Gender Queer: A Memoir by Maia Kobabe
In honor of Pride Month, Broward County Library Director Allison Grubbs will lead a discussion of Gender Queer: A Memoir by Maia Kobabe.
