WorkForce Ready for Success
“It’s amazing!” says Patricia Protich, a customer who recently took part in Broward County Library’s WorkForce Ready program. “All you need to get a computer is a library card. Really? That’s so easy it’s almost comical!”
No doubt Patricia had a smile on her face this spring after discovering WorkForce Ready. At the time, she was in the difficult position of looking simultaneously for a new job and another place to live, without a computer or Wi-Fi service.
Thankfully, the WorkForce Ready program lends laptops and Wi-Fi-enabled hotspots to prepare résumés, job search, engage in online interviews and attend educational webinars to enhance employability.
Patricia borrowed just what she needed to guide and turbo-power her job search. “The Wi-Fi hotspot helped me the most,” says Patricia. “I did not have to stay at McDonald’s using their Wi-Fi all day.”
With her impressive experience and WorkForce Ready tools, Patricia found a new job and new housing. Patricia notes, “There is a lot of help out there. One just has to keep looking for it. Thank you, Broward County Library!”
