Due to recent occurrences at the Friday Farmers Market the following changes will be implemented beginning Friday, December 8 and run through the season.

1. The market is permitted from 8 AM to noon. Vendors need time to set-up; with this said vendors will not start selling until 8 AM. So, no need to get to the market before 7:55 AM as we’ll keep the aisle clear near the vendor booths until 8 AM.

2. Sadly there was a second incident of an attendee letting their dog defecate in the market parameters and then ignoring a vendor’s request to clean it up, telling the vendor “you can do it.”  As the market manager I have been very lenient about having pets in the market areas when in fact it is a violation. Should this happen again then the following code will be enforced.

California Health & Safety Code 114259.5 stipulates that live animals aren’t allowed in Certified Farmers’ Markets and permitted food facilities, with the exception of service animals. Fraudulently misrepresenting service animals is a misdemeanor (California Penal Code 365.7 [a]).

Please make plans to leave your animal at a safe place outside of the Market.
