In 2025, the WHMA will be celebrating the 200th anniversary of the historic Whistler House edifice, built circa 1825.The federal colonial home has seen many influential residences through its long and rich history. From groundbreaking industrialists, leading engineers, historians, and socialites, to boarding house owners, mill girls, caretakers and possibly enslaved people as part of the Underground Railroad. It has also hosted many VIP visitors; from U.S. Ambassadors, governors, senators, and statesmen, to bestselling authors, artists, leading academics, entertainers, and top museum leaders. After 200 years, it continues to be a beacon of art and culture throughout the region and world.

Exhibit Criteria: We seek works in ALL MEDIUMS that showcase themes inspired by the Whistler House Museum of Art and all it has to offer; including James McNeill Whistler. From exterior to interior locations of the historic home, to the park and courtyard, and all other artistic interpretations. New works are encouraged.
