From: Chinook DaysChinook Days is the celebration of the Spearfish world record of the fastest/greatest temperature change on January 22, 1943 caused by a Chinook Wind.
During the week-long event, there will be a winter celebrations that consist of a winter festival, mountain sports, craft beer, local food, music and arts.

January 18, 2025
Winter Carnival
Winter Carnival at Big Hill. Group fat bike rides, snowshoe tours. Food from Killian’s and beer from Crow Peak Brewing Company at the warming hut at 11:00. Winter games and challenges at 12:00.
January 19, 2025
Killian's 13th Annual Winter Luau. 7:00 – Close. Dress in your best tropical gear. Prizes for best dressed. Luau food and drink specials. Music by High Rise.
January 22, 2025
Chinook Days Pub Crawl. Starts at Crow Peak Brewing. Bike, hike, catch a ride. Multiple stops. Music and prizes at finish at Killian’s.
January 23, 2025
Backcountry Film festival and Soup Feed at the Matthews Opera House.
January 24, 2025
All forms are carved. Prizes for best Sculpture. FREE EVENT. Starts at Visit Spearfish.
January 25, 2025
Community Bonfire
Head on down to the Lookout Amphitheatre upper parking lot at 100 St. Joe Street on January 25th from 2 PM to 8 PM for a day packed with music, festivities, and a blazing community bonfire!
Chinook Beerfest
ChinookFest BeerFest will take place at 100 Saint Joe Street Spearfish, SD 57783, on January 25th, 2 PM to 5 PM. This is an opportunity to try amazing brews from around the Black Hills region and take part in this iconic community event!
