Recently several businesses on Solano have been the victims of vandalism by having their windows broken and some have even been burglarized. Thankfully, no one was injured but these crimes do create a significant unanticipated cost for our business community when many are already struggling.

In response to these regrettable incidents, our city staff moved quickly to address the immediate need. In addition to reaching out to those businesses affected directly, the City Manager has worked with staff to reallocate existing resources to help those businesses pay for repairs, while our Police Department has increased its patrols, will be hosting a community engagement event with any interested businesses in the City next week, and is actively investigating the vandalism itself.

While we cannot eliminate crime, especially when its sole goal is to cause damage for its own sake, the City is doing and will continue to do all we can to address these and other incidents like them, and I would like to thank those staff involved for their quick response.
