From: City Of AnnaMartin Luther King Jr. holiday closures and trash schedule
City facilities will be closed Monday, Jan. 16. Trash and Recycling will operate on a normal schedule.
Join us on Friday, Jan. 13
You're invited to breakfast with the City Manager on Jan. 13 at 8 a.m. at the Municipal Complex. He will share the results of our recent biennial Anna Community Survey and how the city is working to address the priorities you, Anna neighbors, highlighted in that survey.
The survey results will be available on our website next week, after the Jan. 10 City Council meeting, for anyone to view.
Practice proper trash and recycling etiquette
Have you ever experienced having your trash or recycling cart not being serviced? Follow these guidelines:
- Place cart(s) at least three feet apart from other carts, mailboxes, vehicles, utility meters, poles, fences, etc.
- All trash/recycling must be inside the poly cart with the lid closed. Items outside of the cart will not be collected.
- All contents in the trash cart should be bagged with the cart lid closed.
Need to get rid of extra things? CARDS provides bulky item pick up service on your regular scheduled day every third week of the month.
- View the schedule
- View details on bulky items allowed
If you have any questions, please contact CARDS at 877-592-2737.
For those needing an additional cart, please call Utility Billing at 972-924-2432 and one can be provided for an additional fee of $7 per month.
Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood.
Blood is the most precious gift that anyone can give to another person – the gift of life. The city has partnered with Carter BloodCare to host a blood drive on Jan. 20. Please RSVP to donate.
Last week to donate to Coyote Pack food drive
The Coyote Pack food drive benefiting the Food Backpack Project provides food for students on the weekend. Donations are accepted thru Jan. 13 in the Municipal Complex lobby and then we will pack the boxes together from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
