The City of Arvada will host an open house to gain community feedback on the final plan strategies and design recommendations for the future of Olde Town Arvada between 4 and 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8. The event will take place at New Image Restaurant and Brewery located at 5622 Yukon Street in Arvada. This event is free and open to the public.

The open house will provide an opportunity for the public to share their feedback on the designs for the Olde Town Arvada Strategic Reinvestment Plan. This plan includes the development of a shared 20-year vision for Olde Town Arvada as well as a study into the feasibility of permanently maintaining street closures that have created a comfortable pedestrian experience. Open house attendees will have the chance to participate in a survey to share their feedback on the plans and designs. A link to the survey will be made available to the public following the open house and will remain open until April 5.

“The Olde Town Arvada experience has been enhanced from the semi-permanent street closures along Olde Wadsworth Boulevard and Grandview Avenue. Overwhelmingly residents and businesses have supported and enjoyed the walkability of Arvada’s historic district,” said Ryan Stachelski, director of community and economic development, City of Arvada.

“These new plans for Olde Town exhibit long term solutions for these pedestrian zones among other exciting recommendations. We look forward to hearing what the community thinks about the plans at the open house,” he continued.

The City of Arvada began this long range planning effort for the future of Olde Town in June 2022 and has requested community feedback through various surveys and events throughout the duration of the process. The open house on March 8 will provide an additional opportunity for public comments on the plans prior to the City presenting the final plans and recommendations to City Council later this spring. The City will then post the finalized Olde Town Arvada Strategic Reinvestment Plan to the City of Arvada’s website for public review and comment for 30 days from posting. The next step in the process will be to work toward securing funding for the implementation of the plan.
