JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for providing administrative support for court operations.

MAJOR DUTIES

Processes legal documents. (35%)
-Receives complaints and sworn affidavits.
-Issues arrest warrants.
-Processes arrest and traffic citations.
-Enters fines, court costs and Judge's Orders to computer database.
-Enters parking tickets.
-Prepares dockets for court.

Receives fees, fines and payments. (35%)
-Receives payments for traffic and misdemeanor cases.
-Accepts cash bonds.
-Monitors the fulfillment of partial-payment plans.
-Balances cash drawer.

Performs receptionist duties. (20%)
-Answers telephone and greets visitors.
- Provides information and assistance.
-Takes messages.
-Makes appointments.
-Refers callers to appropriate personnel.

-Performs related duties. (10%)
-Demonstrates punctual, regular, and reliable attendance.
-Attends meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
-Provides innovative solutions to enhance current processes and procedures and/or resolve workplace issues.
-Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

-Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
-Knowledge of court policies and procedures and relevant City policies and procedures.
-Skill in organizing work and setting up and maintaining accessible files.
-Skill in operating such office equipment as a computer, calculator, copier, multi-line telephone, etc.
- Skill in performing basic mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
-Skill in dealing with the public.
-Skill in oral and written communication.
-Ability to acquire a certificate of notary.
-Ability to work cooperatively with others.
