From: City Of Cibolo

The City of Cibolo swore in newly elected Mayor Mark Allen on Tuesday, January 17, during a Special Council Meeting. Mayor Allen previously served the City of Cibolo as Councilman for District 5 since 2018. Mayor Allen has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in Marketing from the University of North Texas and currently works for WellMed in San Antonio as an IT Manager. As a resident of Cibolo since 2013, Mayor Allen has been an active community member having served as an advocate for several neighborhoods in the city and surrounding areas.

Some of Mayor Allen’s goals are to improve the city’s road infrastructure and increase business development in Cibolo. “We need more commercial tax revenue and I want to help new businesses to set up shop here in Cibolo that offer our residents great restaurants, entertainment and shopping,” said City of Cibolo Mayor Mark Allen.

“I’m honored that the great citizens of Cibolo have put their faith in my ability to lead our city forward as Former Mayor Stosh Boyle’s successor by electing me to serve them as Cibolo’s next mayor. I will serve with dignity, honor and transparency. I look forward to tackling the challenges we collectively face as a growing city and to taking advantage of the opportunities which will present themselves to make Cibolo a prosperous city that we’re all proud to call home,” said Mayor Allen. “Together we’ll make Cibolo the very best city in America to raise a family or retire in.”

The City of Cibolo would also like to introduce the two newest City Council members, Randy Roberts, who serves District 2, and Robert Mahoney, who serves District 3. “I ran for office because I saw an opportunity where I could use my skills to help further the success of the city. I also believe that it is my duty to serve and what better way to serve the great citizens of Cibolo than as a councilman for District 2,” said Councilman Randy Roberts. Both council members terms run from November 2022 through November 2025.

A Special Election for Council District 5 will be held on May 6, 2023. The first day of filing for this position is Wednesday, January 18, 2023, with the deadline of Friday, February 17, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. Applicants must be a resident of the City of Cibolo and have lived in District 5 for one year prior to the election date.
