From: City Of DearbornDEARBORN, MI – John Carlisle, a columnist at the Detroit Free Press, will be at the Henry Ford Centennial Library Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 6:30 p.m. to reflect on his book 313: Life in the Motor City, in honor of its 10-year anniversary since publication.
The event will be held in person in the Henry Ford Centennial Library auditorium, 16301 Michigan Ave, and will be streamed on Zoom for anyone who wishes to attend remotely.
The book is comprised of essays that depict the life experiences of individual Detroiters: poignant, wild, and all true to life. Carlisle will share insights into his writing process and take questions.
Carlisle specializes in seeing important stories in the lives of everyday people. He has written for the Metrotimes, edited at the C&G papers, and had his work appear in Medium, USA Today, and the Toronto Star.
