From: City Of DearbornParks and Recreation opens registration for end-of-summer and fall programs
Dearborn residents can now sign-up for late summer swim lessons and fall softball leagues
DEARBORN, MI – The City of Dearborn Department of Parks and Recreation has opened registration for two popular annual programs: swim lessons at Dunworth Pool and adult softball leagues.
To sign up, visit the Service Desk at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center or call 313-943-2355. The Service Desk is open on weekdays between 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Swim lessons
Dunworth Pool will host end-of-season swim lessons from Monday, Aug. 7 - Thursday, Aug. 17. The cost for lessons is $65 per person. The program consists of eight 30-minute sessions at the outdoor pool on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. All participants must obtain one of the following swim tags, all of which require proof of residency:
Resident Youth (ages 13 and under): Free.
Resident Student (ages 14-17): $60
Resident Adult (ages 18-59): $80
Resident Senior (ages 60 and over): $60
Resident Family (two adults and up to four children): $160
Non-Resident: $185
Non-Resident Family (two adults and up to four children): $345
Adult softball leagues
Dearborn’s Adult Softball League program will return to the field for the fall. Five separate divisions will kick off their seven-week season after Labor Day. The season will conclude with a session of playoff games.
Teams can register to play in the following league divisions for a $380 entry fee:
Men’s 40 and over (Mondays)
Coed (Thursdays)
There is a $580 entry free for all teams participating in any of the following men’s doubleheader divisions:
Men’s Tuesday Doubleheader
Men’s Wednesday Doubleheader
Men’s Thursday Doubleheader
All teams are also required to pay $15 per game for umpiring fees. Teams must submit a roster of at least 10 eligible players and all entry fees to the Department of Parks & Recreation by Sunday, Aug. 27.
