City of Fremont offices will be closed Monday, February 20 in observance of Presidents Day. This closure will not affect police and fire services, except for the Fremont Police Department’s front desk will also be closed. City offices and FPD’s front desk will reopen Tuesday, February 21 for regular business hours.
Reminder: Full Closure of Northbound I-680 in Sunol between Koopman Rd. and Sunol Blvd. this Presidents Day Weekend
Interstate 680 will be closed in the northbound direction between Koopman Road and Sunol Boulevard in Sunol on President’s Day weekend, Feb 17 - 21, 2023. This closure is scheduled to run from Friday night, February 17 at 10:00 pm through 5:00 am Tuesday morning, February 21 (four nights, three days). The closure will be rescheduled if it rains. During the closure, crews will work around the clock to reconstruct the roadway to make a smoother ride for motorists. Caltrans monitored traffic during the February 10-13 weekend closure and are making adjustments to cut down delays and inconvenience. Installation of Black History Month Flag
On February 14, City Council installed a Black History Month flag in the Council Chambers. The City of Fremont is proud to observe February as Black History Month, celebrating the diversity and character of our community and sharing culture, customs, and traditions with those around us.
In December 2022, the Council approved a flag raising during the month of February and then read a ceremonial Black History Month proclamation at its regularly scheduled Council Meeting on Feb. 7, 2023.
