-Roux Ready– Civic Center Coordinator, Stephanie Kimbrell, is hard at work planning the annual Mardi Gras Gumbo Cookoff on Saturday, February 18th. Click here for more information!
-February Council Meeting – The Cities Council Meeting is January 21st at 6:00pm.
-City Closures – City Hall and Facilities will be closed February 20th in observance of Presidents Day.
-Citizens Police Academy - Henderson Police Department is now taking applications for the 2023 Citizens Police Academy where citizens have the opportunity to learn the inner workings of the law. Contact [email protected] for more information.
PROJECT UPDATES
-The Cities construction teams took a break from the City Hall remodel to provide some must needed updates to the Henderson Animal Center.
-Master A/V began the install on the new audio and video equipment for the Council Chambers. The new audio and video equipment will allow for better accessibility and clarity for the citizens of Henderson Texas.
-Fiber internet is now being provided by Frontier Communications and Sparklight. Both providers are still working on finishing the construction of their infrastructure, however, both are signing up new customers and installing currently. This is a huge opportunity for our citizens and business owners who have been wanting other options. Now multiple options are available which will create a healthy competition for better rates and customer service.

Protect and Serve
On February 15th, Marshall Cochran was sworn into the Henderson Police Department before family, friends, City officials, and members of the Henderson Police Department. Presenting Officer Cochran his badge is Police Chief Chad Taylor.
SRO Appreciation Day
February 15th, 2023 | School Resource Officer, Amber King, was recognized by Wylie Elementary for her exceptional service to their campus. Thank you Officer King, as well as the additional SRO's, Brittany Dooley, Clint Case, Robert Hinton and Captain Chad Bradley for your service.
Heartfelt Competition
The ladies at Henderson City Hall participated in a friendly Valentine box decorating competition, equipped with all the nostalgia of valentines cards and heart-shaped cookies. Judging was done by none other than Mayor Buzz Fullen who awarded our Communications and Marketing Coordinator, P. M. Johnson, and her wide-eyed penguin, the Valentine Queen.
