From: City Of Hot SpringsOperates treatment facilities to control flow and processing of wastewater, sludge and effluent; monitors gauges, meters and control panels; observes variations in operating conditions; records and interprets meter and gauge readings and test results to determine processing requirements; operates valves and gates; starts and stops pumps, compressors and generators to control and adjust flow and treatment processes; maintains logs; performs routine maintenance, lubrication and housekeeping functions; makes operating decisions in the absence of supervisory personnel; assists with training new employees relative to the various operations of the wastewater treatment plant; may assume duties and responsibilities of chief operator in his/her absence; performs related work as required.

Qualifications
Applicant must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; must have at least five years of experience as a plant operator in a similar facility or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Applicant must possess a Class IV Water Treatment License (If not, individual will be hired at entry level as Plant Operator Tech Trainee, pay grade 6 ($13.40) or the pay grade equivalent to Water Treatment Operator License held.
Special Requirements
DRUG TESTING: All applicants are subject to pre-employment testing; individual in this position will be subject to random drug & alcohol testing.
