From: City Of JonesboroJonesboro was awarded as Education Workforce Development Trendsetter City of the Year in Arkansas for 2022 today at the Arkansas Municipal League convention in Little Rock.
Mayor Harold Copenhaver and Chamber of Commerce Vice President Shelle Randall accepted the award from the event’s major sponsor, Crews and Associates Senior Managing Director Paul Phillips.
Jonesboro’s workforce development efforts are led by Jonesboro Unlimited and the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce, partnering with the City government and education and industry partners. Together they lead a comprehensive program that includes many projects — an entire system that is deemed a model for the entire state.
The City of Jonesboro also was honored with honorable mentions in Technology and Security for Copenhaver’s establishment of a real-time crime center with Police Chief Rick Elliott, and for Tourism Development Creative Culture for the opening of Jonesboro’s Sports Shooting complex.
