City Council Election Updates

The City of Kennedale City Council Elections will be as follows:

Place 1 – Rockie Gilley and Chris Evans
Place 5 – James Connor and Jeff Nevarez

Place 3 is uncontested with Kenneth Michels.

Early voting begins April 24^th and Election Day is May 6, 2023.

The A B C Ds of Medicare: Educational  Program at the Library

Are you interested in finding out how Medicare works? Are you looking at making changes to your Medicare benefits? This program may be for you.

You are invited to a free Medicare educational meeting conducted by a Benefit Advisor specializing in Medicare. You can expect to better understand your options as you become eligible for your Medicare benefits. The Advisor will cover the following information from the official Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services handbooks:

-Defining Medicare and its parts

-How and when to enroll in Medicare, as well as what happens if you are already on Medicare and turning 65

-When you are allowed to change plans (Annual Enrollment and Special Enrollment Periods)

-Medicare Health Plan Coverage Choices (Medicare Supplement and Medicare Advantage Plans)

-Prescription Drug Plans

-Do I qualify for extra help with my premiums? How do I apply?

-What if I plan to keep working? What if my spouse isn't on Medicare?

The meeting lasts approximately one hour and will include some time for questions and answers. Invite anyone you'd like who may benefit from this seminar.
