KILLEEN, Texas (Jan. 13, 2023) – The Killeen Fire Department was able to contain an evening brush fire on Atlas and Hercules Avenues on Jan. 12.
The call came in at 5:14p.m. and the fire burned through approximately 35 acres in a field area surrounding by housing units.
No personnel or animals were injured. There were no evacuations, no property was damaged, and the fire was under control within about an hour. Crews remained on scene until 11p.m. to continue cleanup efforts.
Eleven fire units responded, as well as nine police units, one member of the Killeen Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, and one personnel from the Killeen Public Works Department.
