Minneapolis’s Iconic Celebration of Winter

Growing from a once humble cross-country ski race in 2003, the City of Lakes Loppet Winter Festival presented by Mayo Clinic has come to be the staple event of winter in the North.

The City of Lakes Loppet Winter Festival is a two-day festival that includes a variety of point-to-point Cross-Country Ski, Fat Bike, Skijor, and Snowshoe events, both competitive races and recreational touring events through Theodore Wirth Park; and a number of unique events, such as the Kubb Tournament and Luminary Loppet (also the Loppet’s largest fundraiser of the year!) – plus much more.

February 1, 2024:

4pm - 8pm: Packet Pickup - The Trailhead

February 2, 2024:

4pm - 8pm: Packet Pickup - Utepils Brewing

February 3, 2024:

7am - 10am: Start Line Packet Pickup - Cedar Lake

7:30am - 10:30am: Mortenson-Cedar Lake Shuttle (Continuous)

8:30am - 10am: Skijor Loppet (3K, 5K, & 10K)

9am - 1pm: 31K Classic Ski Loppet

9:45am - 1pm: 20K Classic Ski Puoli Loppet

10am - 3pm: Trailhead-Mortenson Shuttle (Every 15 on the Quarter Hour)

10:15am - 1pm: 10K Classic Ski Tour

7am - 3pm: Start Line Packet Pickup - Trailhead

10am - 3pm: Utepils Beer Garden & Festival Village

10am - 8pm: Captain Ken's Kubb Tournament

12pm - 1:30pm: MNOC Ski-Orienteering Loppet

1:30pm - 3pm: Gear West 5K Ski Loppet

1:40pm - 2:30pm: 1.5K Sit Ski Loppet

2pm - 3pm: Next Generation Loppet (1K, 2K, & 3K)

February 4, 2024:

7am - 12pm: Start Line Packet Pickup - Cedar Lake

7:30am - 11:00am: Mortenson-Cedar Lake Shuttle (Continuous)

8:30am - 10am: Skijor Loppet (10K Point-to-Point)

9am - 1pm: 31K Skate Ski Loppet
