Evolution Boulders Climbs into Manassas
A new gym focused on the popular free climbing style called "bouldering" is opening its doors in Manassas. Evolution Boulders, started by husband and wife duo Corey and Ahna Porter, launched in July at 10371 Central Park Drive.
Evolution Boulders is a cutting-edge climbing facility with numerous routes, gathering spaces, gym amenities, maker space, and more. The Porters opened the gym with the goal of welcoming climbers of all experience levels (or lack thereof) and creating a new community gathering place. “We want to share the fun and benefits of bouldering with as many groups as possible,” say Corey Porter. “Manassas is an incredibly authentic community and we wanted to provide an accessible, welcoming environment that builds off the unique sense of place and community the City has.”
In addition to various memberships, day passes, and group events, Evolution Boulders also offers a one-of-a-kind setting for makers and artisans. The business renovated the former NVMS Inc. space, which was built out like a small town inside a warehouse to include retail space, personal training and fitness areas, and rentable rooms for community events. Evolution Boulders will host a ribbon cutting celebration on September 6 at 4 p.m. – stop by and climb around!
