City Council to meet Dec. 19
Mesquite City Council meets December 19 at City Hall, 757 N. Galloway Ave. Members of the public, applicants and interested parties may attend the meeting in person. Face coverings are optional for attendees, but the city will continue to implement social distancing measures with limited seating. Members of the public desiring to comment during Citizens Forum must preregister as follows: Send an email or call the City Secretary on or before 3 p.m. December 19 at [email protected] or 972-216- 6244. Provide the City Secretary with your name and address. Comments on agenda items may be made during the meeting or by submission on or before 3 p.m. on December 19 to the following email address: [email protected]. View meeting agendas online. December 19 Agenda:
5 p.m.: Pre-Meeting, Training Rooms A and B
7 p.m.: Regular Meeting, Council Chambers
City holiday closures on Dec. 23 and Dec. 26
City offices and facilities will be closed for the Christmas Eve and Christmas holiday on Friday, Dec. 23 and Monday, Dec. 26 except for the Mesquite Metro Airport and recreation centers. Trash will be collected on Friday, Dec. 23 but recycling will not be collected. Trash and recycling will not be collected on Monday, Dec. 26. Collection will resume on resident’s next scheduled collection day. View a complete list of closures.
City of Mesquite offers new payment system
The City of Mesquite now offers a more secure, convenient, and user-friendly online payment system for its customers. The new and improved system provides many benefits to customers for fast bill pay. Learn about the Mesquite Pay features and more here.
Lawson Road improvements
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the City of Mesquite have begun safety improvements along Lawson Road between Milam Road and Cartwright Road. Motorists will soon notice the addition of shoulders to the roadway along with new guardrails throughout the area. Learn more here.

Worried about traffic while out holiday shopping? The City continues to promote alternate driving directions to shoppers for key destinations in Mesquite, such as Town East Mall, with the www.cityofmesquite.com/ShoppingRoutes webpage. The page offers ways to shop more and drive less by using different roads to travel and avoid traffic.
