Walmart Reopens in Peachtree City
Our Peachtree City Walmart reopened just in time for some last minute holiday shopping.

Mayor Kim Learnard, City Council Member Clint Holland, and Fire Chief Clint Murphy joined store manager Brad Mink to welcome customers back four months after a fire caused significant damager to the building.

“People have been asking me for four months, 'When is Walmart going to reopen?’," Mayor Learnard said. "After the fire, I really learned the importance of this store in our community from our citizens. Of course they shopped at other stores for a while, but they really wanted to see this store reopen.”

Wednesday's reopening was billed as partial one. Shoppers could only access the store's grocery section.

Still, Mink promised the rest of Walmart would be open to the public soon.

The Holocaust in Historical Context at the Peachtree City Library
