Domestic Violence Awareness Month 

The Prior Lake City Council proclaimed October 2025 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month during its meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 14. This marks the fifteenth consecutive year the city has officially recognized victims, survivors, and advocates working to end domestic violence.

FREE Fall Yard Waste Drop-off 

Free fall yard waste drop off is back for the entire month of October. Prior Lake residents can drop off items Monday-Saturday (closed Sundays) through Oct. 31 at Dakota Prairie Composting, 12386 Chestnut Blvd., Shakopee.

Downtown Parking Update 

Less than a month after the reconstruction started, the downtown parking lots by the public library are now complete. Thanks for your patience and to our local Prior Lake Blacktop crew for doing a great job!

Extended Early In-Person Voting Hours

Early in-person voting for the 2025 Special Election is underway at City Hall. Residents can vote in-person at City Hall Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm, until Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025. Polls at City Hall will be open for extended hours on Saturday, Nov. 1 (9 a.m. - 1 p.m.) Monday, Nov. 3 (8 a.m. - 5 p.m.) and Tuesday, Nov. 4 (7 a.m. - 8 p.m.). Candy Crawl, the daytime trick-or-treat event for Prior Lake's youngest residents, starts Friday, Oct. 31 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. The crawl starts at City Hall and continues to participating downtown businesses.
