Sugar Land's new solid waste contract with Republic Services goes into effect on MONDAY, January 16th!

We've been talking to you for months about the changes that are coming to solid waste, and it's finally time to put all that information to use! Let's recap, shall we?

Is your service day changing?

There are several neighborhoods in the area that will be experiencing service day changes as of Monday the 16th. Use the "Find my Service Day tool" to search your address and figure out if that's you (and what those changes are).

Bulky waste - on call!

As of Monday the 16th, bulky waste will transition to our new on-call service. So if you are a third Monday household and were planning to have your bulky waste picked up on Monday the 16th... don't! Our new flexible approach to bulky waste allows you to schedule 12 bulky waste collections per year - so use it when you need it! Beginning on Monday, January 16th, bulky waste pick up will be available by:

-Submitting your request to Republic online

-Emailling [email protected]

-Calling Republic at 713-726-7307

You will also be able to schedule a bulky waste collection in the new Republic Services App that is coming soon! If you like your current once a month pickup, just use one of these methods to schedule your collections for the entire year. Sugar Landers will now also be able to make 12 bulky waste drop-offs at the landfill at no extra cost.

Green waste - to bag or not to bag

If you choose to bag your green waste, it will now need to be bagged in clear bags beginning Monday the 16th. That being said, you do not HAVE to bag your green waste. You may also set your green waste out in a personal container!

Trash, green waste and recycling schedules

We're keeping twice a week trash collection as well as once a week green waste and recycling collections! Your green waste and recycling will each fall on one of your service days. Again, to confirm those days, check out our handy-dandy "Find My Service Day tool".
