2023 Gasparilla Invasion & Parade
Over 300,000 spectators are expected to line the streets near Bayshore Blvd to watch the Seminole Hard Rock Gasparilla Pirate Fest on January 28. Visit our City of Tampa website for information on event details, street closures, parking, parade routes, and other information to help you enjoy the festivities safely. Tickets are still available for Gasparilla Invasion Brunch at the Tampa Convention Center and may be purchased here.
Coffee with Castor
Live, work, or play in the New Tampa area? Join City of Tampa Mayor Jane Castor for a coffee and some conversation on January 27 from 4 pm – 5pm at Coffee Speaks N Tea Talks (19651 Bruce B. Downs Blvd). Have a cup of coffee with the mayor while sharing ideas on how to continue improving the quality of life in our city.
McKay Bay Scalehouse & Transfer Station
The McKay Bay Scalehouse and Transfer Station will have new hours starting February 1. On Wednesdays & Saturdays, the facility will now open at 7 am and close at 3:30 pm. See the waste disposal guidelines and the full schedule here.
Bead Free Bay & Bead Reuse Program
Let’s keep beads out of the bay! In partnership with the MacDonald Training Center, salvaged and dropped off beads can be reused year after year keeping them out of the waste stream and more importantly, out of the bay. Clean and sanitized beads are packaged and sold back to parade crews for other City events. All proceeds go back to the MacDonald Training Center to fund career and education programs. There are 4 dropoff sites.
Hanna Avenue Project Hiring Event
Are you looking for a career in construction? On January 27 from 9 am – 12pm, join the Hanna Ave Project Team and local organizations from all around the Tampa area at the NFL YET Center (3310 E. Lake Ave) to learn about job opportunities in construction. Trades to be hired include concrete, painting, flooring, drywall, site work, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and more. Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful After Gasparilla Cleanup
Join Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful for our After Gasparilla Cleanup on January 29 at 8 am to help pick up beads and trash left behind from the festivities. Groups will be stationed in four locations: Fred Ball Park, Bern's Park, Kate Jackson Park, and Bank of America.
