STREET RESTRICTIONS
Several Tempe streets will be closed or restricted for the Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K Jan. 14-15. The following street restrictions and closures have been identified; however, others could be put in place to address public safety concerns that occur during the event.
Jan. 14 at 11 a.m. until Jan. 15 at 4:30 p.m.
-Rio Salado Parkway between Ash and Mill avenues will be closed in both directions
-Southbound Mill bridge will be closed at Washington Street
Rock ‘n’ Roll 5K
Jan. 14 from 6:30 to 10 a.m.
-Mill Avenue will be closed in both directions between Washington Street/Curry Road and Rio Salado Parkway
-Lakeview Drive will be closed in both directions south of Washington Street/Curry Road
-College Avenue southbound will be closed between Curry Road and Gilbert Drive
-Eastbound Curry Road will be closed between Washington Street and College Avenue
Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K
Jan. 15 from 3:30 to 6:30 a.m.
-Northbound Priest Drive will be closed between Washington and Van Buren streets (Phoenix)
-Northbound Ash Avenue will be closed at Third Street (garage access maintained)
-Northbound Mill Avenue will be closed between Third Street and Rio Salado Parkway (business access maintained)
-Northbound Mill Avenue will be closed between Rio Salado Parkway and Washington Street
-University Drive will be closed in both directions from Mill to McAllister avenues
-Myrtle, Forest and College avenues will be restricted in both directions between University Drive and Seventh Street
-Veterans Way southbound will be closed between Sixth Street and University Drive
Jan. 15 from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
-56th Street, north of Washington Street, will be closed in both directions
-Priest Drive will be closed in both directions between Van Buren and Washington streets
-Center Parkway will be closed in both directions between Priest Drive and Van Buren Street/Mill Avenue
-Eastbound Washington Street will be restricted to one lane between Priest Drive and Center Parkway
-Washington Street will be closed in both directions between Center Parkway and Mill Avenue/Van Buren Street
-Southbound Mill Avenue/Van Buren Street will be closed between the Phoenix city limit and Third Street
-Northbound Mill Avenue/Van Buren Street will be closed between Third Street and Curry Road. Business access will be maintained north of Third Street. There will be one northbound Mill Avenue/Van Buren Street lane open north of Curry Road to allow for access to Rolling Hills Golf Course and the Phoenix Zoo.
-Westbound Curry Road will be closed at College Ave
-Lakeview Drive will be closed in both directions at both ends at Washington Street
-Rio Salado Parkway will be closed in both directions west of Packard Drive to Mill Avenue
-Rio Salado Parkway will be closed in both directions from Hardy Drive to Ash Avenue
-Hardy Drive and Rio Salado Parkway, access to TCA will be maintained all other traffic will be forced westbound on Rio Salado Parkway
Jan. 15 from 7 to 9:30 a.m.
-Veterans Way/McAllister Avenue will be closed in both directions between Sixth and Tyler streets
-Eastbound University Drive will be closed at Mill Avenue; all traffic will be detoured onto southbound Mill. There will be one lane of eastbound University Drive open between Rural Road and McClintock Drive to allow access to apartments
-Westbound University Drive will be closed between McClintock Drive and Mill Avenue
-Northbound Rural Road will be closed at University Drive; all traffic detoured onto eastbound University Drive. Best option is to detour onto Broadway Road or Apache Boulevard
-Southbound Rural Road will be closed at Sixth Street; all traffic detoured onto westbound Sixth
-Dorsey Lane will be closed in both directions at University Drive; all northbound traffic detoured onto eastbound University Drive
-Northbound McClintock Drive will be restricted to two lanes between University Drive and Scottsdale city limit. All left-turns and U-turns are restricted. There will be no Loop 202 access
-Southbound McClintock Drive will be closed between Weber and University drives
-There will be one lane of southbound McClintock Drive open between McKellips Road and Weber Drive to allow for business access. There will be no Loop 202 access
-Third Street will be closed in both directions at McClintock Drive; all traffic will be detoured onto northbound McClintock
-Rio Salado Parkway will be closed in both directions between McClintock Drive and Rural Road; all westbound traffic will be detoured onto northbound McClintock
-Eastbound Weber Drive will be closed at McClintock Drive
-Eastbound Curry Road will be closed at Stadem Drive
-Southbound Scottsdale Road traffic detoured onto eastbound and westbound Loop 202
Freeway restrictions
Jan. 15 at 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
-Eastbound and westbound Loop 202 off-ramps will be restricted at Scottsdale Road. All non-event traffic will be detoured onto northbound Scottsdale
-Eastbound Loop 202 off-ramp at McClintock Drive will be closed
